What to Expect at Your First Visit
We look forward to meeting you on your first visit. During this time, we will help you get to know our office and learn about your unique orthodontic needs. This first visit will involve digital photos, an examination, then a discussion about possible treatment. We will also decide the best time to begin orthodontic treatment. We encourage questions from both patients and parents, so we provide plenty of time to talk with you. We promise to give you the personal attention you deserve.
Occasionally, we may need to take a digital x-ray to look for missing teeth or teeth that are delayed in development. If so, we will tell you first and make sure that your dentist has not already taken one recently. If orthodontic treatment is necessary, we will schedule a second visit to take more in-depth records, including other digital orthodontic x-rays, digital photos, and a 3-D digital i-Tero scan of the teeth (replaces those goopy molds). These records are evaluated by Dr. Lively so that he can properly determine your needs and plan your treatment.
After the treatment plan is developed, we will consult with you and explain every aspect of the treatment plan in detail. Dr. Lively will give you a complete diagnosis on the nature of the problem, a written summary of the findings and a detailed plan that outlines treatment goals, length of treatment and treatment fees. This will all be shared with your referring dentist.
